The two friends Jordan Buggenhout and Missak Vehouni were on a personal quest for the perfect pair of jeans. It ultimately resulted in their own shop: Atelier Bleu, the first real jeans shop in the capital, exclusively for him.
Shop: Atelier Blue
Jeans were originally designed to be indestructible “working men’s pants”. But over the years, cheap knock-offs started appearing on the market. Atelier Bleu favours quality and authenticity. Japan is the leading country in terms of high quality denim. With only five exclusive brands, including the Belgian Eat Dust, Naked & Famous Denim, and The Unbranded Brand, they will dress every man who is looking for classic indigo jeans that will make them feel like James Dean himself. “Buy less, buy better” is the life wisdom of these jeans lovers. And for a pair of trousers that costs from 100 to 260 euro, perhaps that is not such a bad idea for your wallet. To highlight their commitment to sustainability, Atelier Bleu also offers a mending service.
In the second section of the shop, you will find a small collection of other clothes: sweaters, T-shirts, shirts, and jackets that are all a perfect match for the blue icon. To complete your look, there are also accessories like handmade, sturdy leather backpacks from the Czech Republic, wallets, and belts. They will soon also add a range of personal hygiene products.
The interior of the shop exudes the atmosphere of a man-cave, with clothes racks made of reused wooden scaffolding, industrial lights, a vintage scooter, and a leather chesterfield in the corner to chill out. All of the objects are also for sale.
A pair of blue jeans and a white T-shirt, that’s all a man needs on his body.
