On June 7 and 8, students of the renowned La Cambre Mode[s] fashion school will be showing their design and stylist skills on the runway at Les Halles in Schaarbeek/Schaerbeek. A fashion show is nerve-racking as it is for any designer, but during this particular event, tension will be even higher as all creations are part of the students’ exams. On top of that, they will be judged by a professional jury and watched by a large audience. To give you an idea of what’s at stake, there will be 2,000 visitors, 250 models, 25 make-up artists, twenty hairdressers, fourteen tutors, one DJ...all gathered to bring out the very best in fifty students. The La Cambre fashion division was created in 1986, as part of the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels, the art and design school founded by the Belgian architect Henry Van de Velde in 1927. Some of the school’s now-famous graduates include Cédric Charlier, Anthony Vaccarello, Olivier Theyskens, and Cathy Pill. The show at the end of the year is one of the highlights of the students’ budding career in the world of fashion, and this year, the show will celebrate its 25th birthday. If you’d like to be part of it, we recommend you get your tickets soon. If you can’t make it to Schaarbeek/Schaerbeek, there’s an after-party as well. Catclub teamed up with La Cambre and picked the beautiful art deco bank building of Le Chambon for a wicked Show 13 After Party. Behind the decks, amongst others, are Juriji der Klee (live), Cabaret Nocturne, and Catclub’s initiator Lady Jane.
