The BE Café Marché Jourdan is a café-restaurant located on the famous square in Etterbeek. It collaborates closely with the local market and promotes Belgian “terroir” cuisine, local products consumed in the appropriate season for environmental reasons. In order to familiarise Brussels’s international community with this type of cooking, the BE Café Marché Jourdan is organising the BE European Cooking Contest to find a non-professional cook with non-Belgian roots to reinvent Belgian cuisine with terroir ingredients, adding a personal, European touch. Candidates will go to the Jourdan market on 24 March to buy the ingredients for their dish. They will then serve the meal to a jury that will select the finalists. On 28 April, the finalists will demonstrate their talent in the kitchens of the BE Café Marché Jourdan. To register, go to www.bebrussels.be.
