Since 2011, Isola Comacina, the only island in Lake Como, has been the location of a series of residencies by Belgian and Italian artists.
Belgian artists in residency on an isolated Italian island
At the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, curator Emmanuel Lambion is presenting nine of them and the work that they made in this isolated place. Spending time on the island must have had a remarkable effect on these artists because their works excite all our senses.
For example, an intense sound installation by Aurore Dal Mas overwhelms your ears, Richard Venlet plays with spatial experience, Peter De Cupere’s art stimulates your nose, and João Freitas lets the island itself impress itself on paper. A feast for the senses!
