In 1988, Galerie Greta Meert hosted the first international exhibition by the German photographer Thomas Struth. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the gallery is going back to those roots.
Expo Thomas Struth: back to the roots
In his eighth solo exhibition in Brussels, Struth, a former student of painting under Gerhard Richter and of photography under Bernd and Hilla Becher, is again showing the black and white street scenes with which Greta Meert opened 30 years ago.
But he is also bringing new work: photographs he took at the Johnson Space Center in Houston and the Siemens Schaltwerk in Berlin, as well as “still lifes” he made at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin.
