Isn’t ignorance the basis of art? With conceptual humour, Koenraad Dedobbeleer plays with that idea, incorporating everyday items, such as industrial glue, sweets, or a space heater, into his sculptures.
The unlikely encounters of artist Koenraad Dedobbeleer
The artist from Brussels creates unlikely encounters through the masterful placement of objects within a space. In this exhibition, titled “On My Own Ignorance and That of Many Others”, which brings together his sculptures, photographs, and recent silkscreen prints, appearances are deceptive and illusions are exposed.
Alternating between innocence and knowing references, he invites us to reinterpret the world of forms and objects.
