Benedict Cumberbatch – Dr Strange to Marvel fans, Sherlock to TV-viewers and Alan Turing to Oscar-watchers – likes variety. Is he applying for the vacant position of James Bond by starring in a spy movie? No, or at least not ostentatiously. His spy agent is closer to you and me than to Bond or Jason Bourne, and has really existed.

The Courier: a spy just like you and me
Greville Wynne was an ordinary British businessman who spent a lot of time working in Russia during the Cold War. At the request of the CIA and MI6, he passed on secret information from Soviet colonel Oleg Penkovsky. Do not expect action, but a solid, sober but excellently photographed drama.
