The director with a social conscience Majid Majidi has been making Iranian films (Children of Heaven, Baran) for over twenty years. They have been shown internationally but have never come close to the popularity of the films of his compatriot Asghar Farhadi. However, it is not difficult to sympathise with the main characters in Sun Children.

'Sun Children': street urchins look for a goldmine
Four street children report to a Tehran school that is trying to move mountains despite a mountain of debt. The children are not looking for an education, but want to dig a tunnel to an underground treasure, at the behest of a rogue adult.
