Is there anything going on in the musical underground? Absolutely, but these days you have to be prepared to dig to find it.
Born Bad Records celebrates 10th anniversary
If you want to keep your nails clean, we recommend a good spade. For the past decade, the French Born Bad Records has provided just that. The label is home to French bands whose rock ‘n’ roll is oiled with sounds from the 1950s to the 1980s, without being retro.
To celebrate its tenth birthday, the label is coming to Atelier 210 with cake and candles in the form of bands. Not ten, but three: Forever Pavot does something poppy with hippie hair, an organ on acid, and a fuzz guitar. In Le Villejuif Underground, an Australian is popping up in the garage of the Velvet Underground with three guys from... Villejuif. And Marietta is the female reincarnation of Syd Barrett, but in the form of a man.
