L'Atelier de Myna

Myriam and Nathalie met at a creative workshop a couple of years ago. They recently joined their forces and opened a large arts and crafts supply shop in Ukkel/Uccle. You’ll find anything from paper, paint, and pencils to sprinkles to decorate your cupcakes. Myriam had been playing with the idea of opening her own shop for a while. She even teamed up with a business coach to develop her plans. To be successful he advised her to go for a large enough space and stock around 10,000 different items to please all costumers. A big set-up, but when Myriam met Nathalie, it all made sense. The ladies found an empty shop that ticked all the boxes and started contacting suppliers to get the best arts and crafts stuff they could find. Locals were delighted, as La Fourmi (a creative shop that had been in the area for over 20 years) closed its doors a while ago. In the shop, everything is arranged by craft. Books, tape, coloured sheets of paper, stickers, and much more for scrapbooking; wooden frames and cardboard letters to customise your interior; books on every arts and crafts discipline. There’s a lot of paint on display too, from finger paint to silk paint (especially ordered for a nearby art school). Foodies have a whole assortment of cake moulds, natural flavouring, and colourings to choose from. There are enough balls of wool, sheets of fabric, needles, and stencils to make a new outfit for every day of the month and plenty of beads and charms to make your own jewellery. There’s a section for floral art too and clay and Fimo to make sculptures. As of May, there will be workshops as well. And, you’re always welcome to browse the little library for ideas and brew up your plans over a cup of coffee. Whether you’ll start from scratch or go for a ready-assembled “make your own soap kit”, we’re sure you’ll have lots of fun.
