“Too many vintage shops in Brussels”: that’s what Audrey’s friends told her when she announced she was going to open her own shop. She pushed her plans through though, thanked her friends for coming up with the name for her boutique, and found the perfect location on Kartuizersstraat/rue des Chartreux. Audrey is from Lille (France) where she’s worked in the vintage sector for the last four years. Events such as the Brussels Vintage Market and Retrorama brought her to Belgium and made her dream of her own shop in the capital. Looking for a location where fashion and vintage were already present, she ended up in the second part of Kartuizersstraat/rue des Chartreux. She feels Too Many Vintage blends in perfectly, with Hunting and Collecting selling the latest international fashion trends, Gabriele Vintage all things retro, Isabelle Béjart luxury vintage, and Think Twice providing for thrifters after a great deal. Too Many Vintage is packed with on-trend vintage clothes. Audrey follows what’s happening in the fashion world and looks high and low for similar pieces from a couple of years ago. She’s keen on the 1970s and ’80s, but stocks garments from other decades too. Women looking for an oversized woollen coat will be delighted with the choice (and the prices), the same goes for (fake) fur jackets, leather perfectos, and skirts or large angora cardigans. Men have a smaller but equally neat selection of checked shirts, woollen cable sweaters, and suede sport jackets. There are shoes and bags as well and Audrey’s looking for belts and other accessories to complete any outfit. Prices range from 15 euro for a shirt to 39 for a woollen jumper and 60 for a longer jacket. Winter coats start at around 100 euro (with a fur collar). All items are in perfect condition and new stuff is added every two weeks. Well worth a visit.
