“A hairy fish with legs that can climb a tree”: that is how Kuhn Fu describe themselves on their website. It sounds pretty crazy, but so does the sound of this quartet.
Kuhn Fuh | When hairy met fishy
The Shaolin warriors with German, Turkish, Israeli, and British roots bring a rutting bass clarinet pursued by choppy guitars, unpredictable basslines and wilful drums to the table. On their debut, Kuhnspiracy, the result is a riotous mix of mouth-frothing jazz, explosive classical chamber music, and drunk oom-pah tunes. Or as they describe it in their own words: post-romantic jazz-rock. Jazz with the unhinged spirit of Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask Replica, is what we think of. Yep, that other fish.
