For his second exhibition at Rodolphe Janssen, the English artist Douglas Eynon returns with paintings, drawings, and ceramics like so many souvenir stickers from a world governed by the absurd.
Douglas Eynon: Souvenirs from over there
The environment is clammy, tropical. There’s no need to worry that the sky is yellow or that the fish are feeding on paint.
They are there to be looked at, not to be eaten. Being a permanent guest has many advantages. You can be there without really being there, your gaze attentive but your spirit elsewhere.
Like Douglas Eynon, within his dream and outside of it at the same time.
