The Czech artist Jakub Nepraš’s video sculptures recreate the chaos of the modern world in fascinating installations that seem to have a life of their own.
Video sculptures for the chaos of the modern world
Seemingly intangible images appear and disappear in a soft glow as if generated by an autonomous machine or a living organism. His montages sometimes consist in a technological version of art brut, in which salvaged materials are connected to video screens and sensors that pick up the heartbeat of the world.
Nepraš’s pieces capture the information that circulates everywhere, often without our knowledge, overlapping and wrapping themselves in a turbulent cloud.
