The American big band institution Jazz at Lincoln Center is coming to Bozar and is bringing legendary trumpet player Wynton Marsalis. The new album by his septet will be released in just over a month. United We Swing is a musical road trip across the U.S.A. featuring singers like Bob Dylan, John Legend, and the Blind Boys of Alabama, but it is also the motto under which Branford’s younger brother runs the New York jazz orchestra as the artistic director. In Brussels, they will not only perform the programme “Monk & More”, the next day, they will also illustrate the importance of Duke Ellington to an audience of school pupils in an interactive performance. The last word is for the first Pulitzer Prize-winning jazz musician who will be answering questions about his career and educational mission.
