For about the past ten years, Agrupación Señor Serrano from Barcelona has been releasing punky lo-fi theatre performances on the international scene that are full of video, dance, music, objects, and technology.
The history of the banana, as told by Señor Serrano
In the chaotic piece Kingdom, the performers have three large tables covered with objects on the stage with which they make real-time cinema, accompanied by live music.
The central focus of the show is the history of the banana: a symbol of growth, consumption, capitalism, industry, virility, and greed. King Kong is also present on the stage. The history of capitalism through the bent yellow fruit that arrived in the West in 1890.
