Since the dark 1980s, the American extreme performance and body artist Ron Athey has been using his heavily adorned though severely battered body to demand absolute individual freedom and to campaign against narrow-minded ideas about identity.

After struggling with S&M, AIDS, religion, and the conservative right, Athey is now confronted with Trump. His response is a ritualistic performance that is inspired by the “headless” secret society Acéphale founded by philosopher Georges Bataille in the 1930s. With guest appearances by beatnik Brion Gysin, musician Genesis P-Orridge, the Minotaur, Hitler, and the likewise decapitated Louis XVI.
