One in five residents in the Brussels periphery is of foreign descent. Elsewhere in Flanders, that figure stands at one in six. That's what census numbers from the Flemish government reveal. Most people of foreign descent in the periphery come from Brussels, because integration tracks aren't mandatory there. And this is putting extra pressure on the peripheral communes. In Sint-Pieters-Leeuw for instance, 80% of the newcomers are from Brussels. A feature by Ring TV.
