The Royal Museums of Fine Arts are launching an investigation into three paintings by the Flemish master Pieter Breughel. The paintings were donated to the museum in the 1980s. The origins of the artworks are unclear; they might be paintings stolen by the Germans during the Second World War. If this turns out to be true, the works cannot stay in the museum.
