New parliament, wait for government: 'Usually forthcoming Vanhengel has been silent for two weeks'

Exactly 89 Brussels MPs are currently taking the oath. This following the formation of the commissions and ratification of the elections. And that wasn't easy because FDF this morning asked the courts to push back the parliament opening a couple of days because of voting problems in Schaarbeek. But the judge disqualified himself, which allowed the MPs to take the oath after all.

In Brussel komt er een parlement met relatief veel nieuwe gezichten, onder meer bij N-VA dat drie zetels heeft gewonnen. Groen krijgt er één zetel bij, maar ook de PS heeft, ondanks een gelijke score, de helft van de fractie vernieuwd. Nieuwkomer is PTB-GO met vier zitjes. Parlementsvoorzitter wordt Charles Picqué. Hij wordt bijgestaan door Fouad Ahidar van SP.A die tot ondervoorzitter is benoemd.
