The City of Brussels officially has a new mayor. Philippe Close was sworn in as successor to Yvan Mayeur this afternoon. Mr. Mayeur had to resign from his position because of his role in the Samusocial scandal. Close is the third PS mayor of this legislature, after Mayeur and Thielemans.
