The Hungarian House in Ixelles is the centre of cultural activities for the Hungarian community in Brussels. Janos recounts how he fled to Brussels with his brother after the 1956 uprising. "I ended up in Belgium completely by chance and was taken in by several families. So on Mother's Day I always wrote three postcards, one for each mum I had here."
