Photographer Jiri Jiru accidentally ended up in Brussels in 1968 and later became a naturalised Belgian. He worked for US publications such as The New York Times and Time Magazine, but then entered the service of the president of his native Czech Republic. "We all went to see Havel. Everyone loved the story of a dissident and prisoner who goes to the castle and becomes the president of the country. It's almost a joke. We love it."
Jiri Jiru: 'Thanks to Baudouin, I became President Vaclav Havel's photographer'
