In beeld: een schrale troost voor foorkramers

Een foorkramer komt nooit alleen. Nog een waarheid als een koe die we door de coronacrisis stilaan mogen schrappen. Na de afgelasting van de Zuidfoor wou de Stad Brussel het leed verzachten door de forains zestien individuele standplaatsen aan te bieden. Door administratieve problemen sloegen maar drie bescheiden attracties hun kamp op in de stad. In het Ter Kamerenbos staat een trampoline, aan de Kapellekerk draait een eenzame molen al even eenzame toertjes en aan de Heizel lijkt er alweer opgekraamd. Volgend jaar beter dan maar?

FR/ Ne dit-on pas qu'un forain n'arrive jamais seul ? Voilà encore un adage que la pandémie nous force à repenser. Après avoir annulé la Foire du Midi, la Ville de Bruxelles tente d'amortir le coup porté aux travailleurs en leur offrant seize stands individuels. À la suite de problèmes administratifs, seuls trois petites attractions auront finalement été montées dans la ville. Un trampoline s'est incrusté au Bois de la Cambre, un carrousel solitaire tourne du côté de l'Église de la Chapelle et l'attraction censée animer le Heysel a déjà été déplacée. Il ne reste plus qu'à espérer que l'année prochaine sera meilleure.

EN/ A fairground worker never comes singly. This is yet another cliché that the corona crisis is forcing us to rethink. After cancelling the South Station Fair, the City of Brussels sought to soften the blow by offering the workers sixteen individual stands. Due to administrative problems, only three small attractions were actually set up in the city. There is a trampoline in the Ter Kameren Wood, a lonely merry-go-round turns its lonely circles next to the Kapellekerk/Église de la Chapelle, and the attraction that had arrived at the Heizel/Heysel has actually moved on again already. We can only hope for better next year.
