The British author, photographer, and journalist Johny Pitts is curating a two-day festival at Bozar about the black worldview, with an emphasis on the perspective of the black traveller.
Looking B(l)ack Symposium
Marie Daulne from Zap Mama is a main guest on Friday and Saturday, but after an early evening and a day full of debates and film screenings, Black Britain is the closing programme with video, music, and poetry by five authors of African and Caribbean heritage.
In other words, no Ian McEwan or Jeanette Winterson, but Bernardine Evaristo, Amina Jama, Catherine Johnson, Inua Ellams, and Roger Robinson. The special guest is none other than Linton Kwesi Johnson, who has been a political poet and reggae legend for forty years.
