Last spring, Kaouther Ben Hania presented her pitch-black Beauty and the Dogs at Cannes. A young woman is violently raped on the street by a group of policemen.

She gets up all her courage to report the crime, but faces disbelief and opposition, and ultimately she finds herself in the police station where the perpetrators work.
This ever-tenser and more upsetting, combative film is a nightmare based on a true story. It is not a faultless film, but it presses its finger into a festering wound.
