The French paedophilia scandal around the priest Bernard Preynat and Cardinal Philippe Barbarin is still ongoing, but François Ozon has already finished his film about it.
It focuses on three victims: an exemplary Catholic who runs up against a brick wall in the Church, a victim who founds the association La Parole Libérée, and a third person whose case still falls within the statute of limitations.
Stylistically, Ozon has betrayed himself, but in terms of content, Grâce à Dieu (Grand Jury Prize in Berlin) is solid as a rock.
