Aterballetto, one of the big names of contemporary dance in Italy, takes on the music of Bach for the second time.
Aterballetto takes on the music of Bach
In Sarabande, six dancers perform the Czech choreographer Jiří Kylián’s stripped-back choreography to the Partita No. 2 in D minor. In Domus Aurea, the ballet troupe is accompanied by the French Suites in an imagining of the villa built by Nero after the Great Fire of Rome.
In this ideal house, which is created through light projections and minimalist sets by the visual artist from Italy Massimo Uberti, the dancers devise strategies for learning to know themselves and resolving their inner conflicts.
