Maria Kley is an artist of Japanese and German descent, born in Tokyo in 1981, who grew up in the Netherlands. She currently resides in Brussels. Her artistic practice spans various mediums, including sculpture, drawing, printmaking, video, and performance. "I love textiles and have a background in fashion design. It's a material I can easily handle. But honestly, as soon as it gets too comfortable, I have to switch to metal, to wood, to ceramics. I need that contrast."
