BRUZZ International talked to Gökşen Çalışkan, who came to Brussels from Turkey as an economic migrant and has been a Belgian citizen since November last year. She is part of 'Belgium's 40 under 40' leadership programme and, together with the NGO Restless Brussels, aims to narrow the gap between internationals and locals. "Voting is one of the most fundamental aspects of being a citizen, so I am thrilled. I am excited to be able to exercise that right. But it also brings a little bit of anxiety, I have to say, because the political landscape in Belgium and in Brussels is quite complex."
