Khadidiatou Diallo came from Senegal to Belgium in the 1980s. She was the victim of genital mutilation and a forced child marriage. At the age of 24 she learned to read and write and started to write her own story. Today she is one of the founders of GAMS in Belgium, the Group for the Abolition of Female Genital Mutilation. The organization helps victims on the one hand and tries to prevent female genital mutilation by sensitizing new generations on the other hand.
