Since the 1960s, Portuguese people have come to Belgium and Brussels in different waves. The most famous Portuguese neighbourhoods are in Ixelles and Saint-Gilles, but all over the city there are football clubs, folklore groups and associations that connect the Portuguese community. Radio Alma, for example, is a local radio station (101.9 FM) that reaches out to everyone who speaks Portuguese.
