In the early twentieth century, the Aegidium was a phenomenal theatre with a magnificent ballroom. Now it is a magnet for urban explorers where Gaspard Giersé of the project Les visites de mon voisin gives guided tours. "For me, Brussels is like a flying saucer landing on a very ancient demarcation line between the Germanic world and the Latin world. So our identity here is a bit cut into pieces. That's why the urbanism, the streets and the houses are so different."
