'La miséricorde de la jungle': turns the jungle into a character

In La miséricorde de la jungle, the Brussels actor Marc Zinga plays a Rwandan war hero during the second Congolese civil war, who accidentally gets left behind by his battalion in the border region between Congo and Rwanda.

To escape the enemy’s clutches, he and an inexperienced soldier hide in the dense jungle. A slightly bigger budget would have raised the level of Joël Karekezi’s film, but he certainly knows how to make the overwhelming jungle a character in itself.
