“We might have seen the future and it looks like Yungblud,” NME headlined just over a year ago. What was once one of the most influential British music magazines never shied away from sensationalist headlines, but perhaps they had a point.

In Dominic Harrison, the real name of the young English rock singer and guitarist Yungblud, a generation of young people who are being suffocated by social media, the stress of choosing, and high expectations has found its own Kurt Cobain. The twenty-year-old Brit performs his “punk” with the flair of Alex Turner, the swagger of rapper Travis Scott, and the fury of the...Sex Pistols. Who said there is no future?
