For a month and a half, Flagey is reprising seven films by French director Louis Malle, who made one great film after another in the 1960s and 1970s, in a variety of registers.
He debuted in 1958 with the stylish film noir Ascenseur pour l’échafaud, in which Jeanne Moreau wanders around Paris by night to the music of Miles Davis. Take your children along to the playful Zazie dans le métro and the moving Au revoir les enfants, but watch out for the dark Le feu follet if you’re planning a night out on the town afterwards.
