Azine Datlibagi did not want to study medicine at first, but became fascinated by the eye as an organ. Now, at ULB's Erasmus lab, he is researching eye diseases for which only surgical treatments are currently possible. "The diseases I study can greatly affect vision and are very difficult to treat. The aim of my research is to reduce the chances of these diseases returning and thus prevent patients from having to undergo surgery again."
