After two total fiascos, the Terminator franchise seemed to be as good as dead. But James Cameron, who catapulted the action film to new heights with the first two films, has come back onboard.
He let Tim Miller direct the film, but unfortunately Miller did not devise any unforgettable action scenes. Cameron did clearly encourage him to draw parallels with the first films, and as a result Terminator: Dark Fate comes across as an update.
We did appreciate the return of Sarah Connor (Hamilton), however, as she puts up a fight against the new Terminator. They breathe new life into the series, but that hasn’t yet signalled the dawn of its glory days.
