'Dirty God': a lasting impact thanks to its profundity

The young Jade has to go through life with a disfigured face after an acid attack. On the one hand, she is gutsy enough to stick up for herself, but on the other hand, she spends hours scouring the internet for a miracle cure. In the meantime, life rushes on.

Dirty God makes a lasting impact thanks to its profundity and the fact that you come to share the conflicting feelings and decisions. And thanks to the phenomenal performance from Vicky Night, who herself has facial scars from a fire, the cinematography of Ruben Impens, and the script. Sacha Polak doesn’t mince words. This colourful, contemporary drama looks misfortune straight in the eye.
