BRUZZ International spoke with three women from Ukraine about the conflict that has been dominating their lives for a week now. Olga Rymar has been living in Brussels for more than twenty years and has taken in her niece who suddenly had to flee her country. Olga's sister stayed behind in Ukraine: "Men are not allowed to leave the country, so my sister decided to stay with her husband."
Inna fled from Ukraine to Brussels: 'I lived my best life in a great land'
Olena Carbou is the founder of the 'Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels', which represents several Ukrainian and EU think tanks. She believes that this crisis has united all Ukrainians, both in their homeland and abroad. "Before the war we used to organise all kinds of cultural events in Brussels. But now we see each other at demonstrations."
