Été 85 is the film adaptation of Dance on My Grave, a cult book by British author Aidan Chambers. In the mid-1980s, a labourer’s son with literary talent spends the summer of his life in a seaside town. He falls head over heels in love with a half-orphan who runs a shop with his eccentric mother and enjoys pleasures like partying, sex, and fast driving with complete abandon. Été 85 is vintage François Ozon: playful, sharp, and taboo-breaking when dark obsessions emerge. Sunny and sexy until death joins the dance.
